Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose

Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose

MIKEM Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose is an anionic and water-soluble polymer that is white or off-white in color, and odorless, tasteless, and hygroscopic. It is widely used in construction, food, and home & personal care applications.

In cosmetics formulation, it is a key ingredient because of its unique properties of thickening, swelling, binding, gelling, emulsifying, moisture-retaining, and film-forming properties. It also has outstanding salt tolerance and acid resistance.

Our products are widely used in toothpaste and other personal products (e.g., cream products). Applying our sodium CMC in toothpaste can improve the binding structure, enhance the smooth feeling, and inhibit the syneresis formation of the toothpaste.
